This cello came to me in six pieces. The top was in four pieces. None of the cracks were along the bass bar or over the sound post position of the top. The instrument came from a very good friend of mine, Walter Rudolph.
Here the top has been returned

Lots of edge work and retouching. The neck was so damaged as to need a neck graft. The sound quality of this cello turned out to be as nice as they come.
Cut neck out of the body and then the peg box off the neck. Then graft the scroll on to a new neck blank. Then the neck can be set and shaped.
